About
Yashoda Latkar is an educator and multimedia visual artist based in Southern New Mexico. Originally from Mumbai, India, she brings over a decade of experience as a commercial photographer and holds a bachelor’s degree in advertising. She earned her Master of Fine Arts from New Mexico State University. Her creative practice explores themes of migration, identity, and the nuanced experience of existing in transitional spaces. Yashoda’s work, rooted in visual storytelling, has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including in the USA, Canada, the UK, Europe, and India, and is part of the permanent collection at the University Art Museum at NMSU. She is also a recipient of the Emerging Artist Award from the Doña Ana Arts Council.
