Garth Clark is considered one of the leading experts on modern and contemporary ceramics. Originally from South Africa, he is an art critic, historian, gallerist, art dealer, and curator. Clark has authored, edited, and contributed to over 90 books on ceramic art as well as hundreds of essays and reviews. His key publications include; The Potter’s Art: A Complete History of Pottery in Britain, Shards: Garth Clark on Ceramics and Art, and Shifting Paradigms in Contemporary Ceramics. Clark is the founder and editor-in-chief of Cfile.org, an online, global community of resources in ceramic arts, and Cfile.daily, a news and review journal for contemporary and avant-garde ceramics.

Garth Clark’s visit to NMSU is part of the Spring 2020 Visiting Artist and Scholars Lecture Series. All the events are free and open to the NMSU community and the public.
