Alumni, Michelle Lantieri Receives Pre-Doctoral Fellowship

Michelle Lanteri, University Art Gallery interim director and MA alumna, has been accepted into the Native American Art History PhD program at The University of Oklahoma (OU) in Norman, as an Andrew W. Mellon Foundation Pre-doctoral Fellow. Michelle will begin the five-year PhD program this August, and she and her husband John will move to Norman in July. The Native American Art History PhD track at OU is a uniquely-designed, competitive program in the field of Native arts, with strengths in contemporary scholarship. Jackson Rushing, Mary Jo Watson (Seminole Nation), and Edgar Heap of Birds (Southern Cheyenne) teach classes in Native arts at the university.
