While we scratch the surface of traditional techniques (such as mold making) in my courses, and students are introduced to such processes as welding and woodworking, projects are always concept based. Students explore an array of sculptural approaches, including object making, installation, performance and video. Students also research important movements of 20th century sculpture history (such as Futurism, Surrealism, site specific art, monuments, etc.) and originate projects based on their research.
