The ceramics program at New Mexico State University teaches a broad range of techniques used to work with clay, including: throwing, slip casting, tile making and other hand building techniques. The study of surface treatments for ceramics is also an important aspect of the program. Student ceramic work is discussed in depth during class critiques, as well as in individual meetings. The newly remodeled ceramics studio provides students with an excellent place to learn about, and work in, clay.
