The core curriculum of my photography program emphasizes both the mastery of technical processes and intellectual engagement with historic and contemporary thinking about the role of photography in the visual arts and society. The program affords students the opportunity to engage in broad exploration of the medium, one that embraces both traditional and nontraditional approaches to photography. Course offerings are comprehensive. Students can expect to work with black & white and color light sensitive processes, as well as digital media and non-silver photographic processes. My teaching does not emphasize a particular doctrine but, rather, encourages students to develop their own creative insights, thus allowing each individual to develop a working method and formal vocabulary that best articulates that vision.
