Director, University Art Gallery

NMSU seeks an engaging, dynamic and highly qualified individual for the position of Director of the University Art Gallery to curate and produce exhibitions, publications and programming that enhance the mission of the department and the university; complement curricular goals; and heighten the visibility of the gallery both regionally and nationally. The director will promote active partnerships between the University Art Gallery and the local art community through outreach; training and exhibition initiatives, to yield greater visibility and competitiveness of the local art scene and contribute to the enhancement of the creative economy in southern New Mexico.
The director oversees and manages the collection, budgeting, and acquisitions; researches and prepares grant proposals; works with the faculty to coordinate with existing programs; trains undergraduate and graduate student interns and employees; and serve as a liaison and resource for the community.
