About

As an object maker I continue to explore the relationship between craft, fine art, and industrial design. I have always been fascinated with the geometry, construction and function of anonymous industrial architecture, such as storage tanks, cooling towers, blast furnaces and silos.  These utilitarian and sculptural objects are of particular interest to me based largely on their abstract aesthetic significance and the formal language they present as “things of use”.  While my primary interest is sculptural, not utilitarian, my creative endeavors align themselves with functionalism, the philosophy that form should be adapted to use, material and structure.
