Monica Martinez Seizes Opportunity as Recipient of the Vivian B. Head Scholarship

The Vivian B. Head Scholarship is available for students in the art, music and theatre departments. Students are required to write an essay about free enterprise. Monica Martinez wrote about how she would use the free enterprise system in the art world and found out over the summer she was chosen to be the award recipient for this year, 2017-2018. What does this mean for her? Ms. Martinez works in the areas of photography and video. The award amount will cover her tuition this year and lessen the financial stress that can sometimes be involved in preparing for an MFA thesis show. Scholarships of this caliber really do help students not only academically, but professionally push forward with their careers and their ambitions.

For more information on what Ms.Martinez has has been up to and her goals for after graduation, read the Sunday’s Sun News article,
