Artist in Residence in Metals and Jewelry

New Mexico State University Metals and Jewelry Program welcomes recent BFA or MFA students to apply for our Artist in Residency program in Metals. The selected artist will receive a private studio space in close proximity to the main metals studio and a stipend of approximately $4,000 for the fall semester (August 15 – December 15, 2014). The residency program provides a unique opportunity for artists to work in a collaborative and interactive educational institution in Las Cruces, New Mexico. The goals for the programs are: to help support artists in achieving their creative and professional goals; to provide our students with in-depth interaction with dedicated researchers in their field; and to promote our program. Requirement: Completed BFA degree­­.

DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF MATERIAL:  JULY 1st, 2014

Resident artist will receive:

$4000.00 stipend­
Private studio space as well as main Metals Studio access
Lecture/workshop opportunity
Exhibition opportunity at the end of the term
10 hours per week studio monitor and maintenance

Artist statement
Letter of intent: describe what you hopes accomplish through this residency, and what you can offer to our program
Name and contact information for three references
Un official transcript
15-20 digital images of current work  (JPEG, 150 DPI, no larger than 9 in x 6 in)

*Important information
 Every JPEG images must be named with your last name followed by the title of the work, i.e. Williams_whitering.jpg
Be sure to send single ZIP folder: include all applications into single folder and compress it to ZIP. The Folder must named with your full name, i.e. John_Williams.zip
